The State's Most Comprehensive Invasive Species Research Program

leafhopperThe Texas Invasive Species Institute (TISI) is the first system-wide research institute established by the Texas State University System. It's also the first comprehensive effort in Texas focused on the early detection of and rapid response to multiple new invasive species that impact, or have the potential to impact, ecosystems and produce major economic effects. TISI currently draws from the expertise of more than 40 researchers within the Texas State University System, allowing TISI to apply effective measures currently lacking in Texas when dealing with detection and rapid response to invasive species.
