Over the past three years, Lamar Institute of Technology has ranked as one of the top three producers of science technology graduates in the nation. LIT offers degree and certificate programs in technology, operational supervision, allied health and workforce training. It is one of the largest producers of process operators and instrumentation technicians in the world with more than 500 students continuously enrolled in these programs.
With the completion of its new $8 million multi-purpose center, Allied Health programs are housed in a modern 56,915 square foot facility with state-of-the-art equipment, housing the only dental hygiene program between New Orleans and Houston or the Gulf of Mexico and Tyler.
Through its Workforce Training division, LIT responds to the needs of individuals, businesses and industry by providing high-quality, applications-oriented education and training services. Many of local area industries, such as TOTAL Petrochemicals USA in Groves and ExxonMobil in Beaumont, use LIT facilities to train incumbent workers. Located in Southeast Texas, in the heart of the petrochemical industrial region, LIT fulfills its mission by serving Southeast Texas with exemplary post-secondary vocational and technical programs while maintaining a 99 percent placement rate for its graduates with starting salaries ranging from $19,000 to $60,000. |

Ranked as the 24th fastest growing two-year college with enrollment under 4,000 by Community College Week, LIT is a two-year technical college offering associate of applied science degrees and certificates of completion in 58 credit educational programs in the fields of industry, business and allied health and continuing education certificate programs in workforce training.
