Lamar State College-Port Arthur
For nearly 100 years, Lamar State College-Port Arthur has provided educational excellence in a hometown setting to thousands of students of all ages, whether they want to complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree program or earn a two-year degree or technical certification to prepare them to enter the workforce.

The college currently offers 52 academic and technical programs that include a diverse selection of career options. LSC-PA students also can participate in a wide variety of student organizations and extracurricular activities including intercollegiate men’s basketball and women’s softball.
The exhibitions and archives of the Museum of the Gulf Coast, which is operated by the college and the Port Arthur Historical Society, greatly enhance the educational experience of LSC-PA students.
Lamar State-PA’s Commercial Music Program trains students in all aspects of the music business, including songwriting, music arranging, performance and recording technology. The college also has a new Software Development Program for students interested in creating video games, animation and webpage design.

The LSC-PA Registered Nursing Program has received four consecutive years of commendations from the Texas Board of Nursing Examiners for its graduates’ outstanding performance on the state licensing examination.
