In February 2017, the TSUS Foundation's third biennial Gala at the JW Marriott Hotel in Austin raised $300,000 to support the Foundation's scholarship programs. Continuing the tradition of recognizing great Texas leaders, the Foundation honored Governor Greg Abbott for his commitment to higher education and service to the state.

"There are few university systems in the United States with as broad a geographic reach and as profound an effect on our communities as the Texas State University System."

- Gov. Greg Abbott at the TSUS Foundation Gala
