Board of Regents
Magdalena "Maggie" Manzano (2008)
Maggie Manzano was chosen as the second Student Regent for The Texas State University System in February of 2007. Appointed by the Governor of Texas, the student regent represents all enrolled students attending colleges or universities in the Texas State University System. This nonvoting position allows a student to represent students in discussions of key issues in higher education and to participate in decisions affecting the future of our campuses.
Regent Manzano is a student at Sam Houston State University. She will complete a bachelor's degree in Economics and International Business (minor in Spanish) in May 2008. Last October, Regent Manzano was inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society. She served as President of the Interested Ladies of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. during the spring and fall semesters of 2006 and has also served as a mentor in the Smith-Hutson Scholarship Program.
