About

The Texas State University System considers art a valuable physical asset that illustrates growth and powers education.

TSUS codified their commitment to public art in 2008 by allocating one percent of construction costs of each major project to the acquisition of artwork.

The Committee on Public Art selects each commission through a competitive process that allows for the voices of many to be considered.  The Committee is made up of faculty, staff, community members, artists, visual art professionals and students each with unique subject matter expertise.

The TSUS Public Art Program is guided by the Director of Public Art housed in the Texas State University System office in downtown Austin.  Please contact Marjorie Flanagan to inquire about the Program, facilitate a tour of campus artwork and learn more about public art.

To learn more about the Public Art Texas Government Code, please visit the TSUS Rules and Regulations.
