Board of Regents Honors 2022 Regents' Award Winners (11/18/22)

(SAN MARCOS) – The Texas State University System Board of Regents today formally recognized recipients of the Regents’ Professor, Student Scholar, and Staff Excellence awards for 2022. The board adopted resolutions honoring the award winners during its quarterly meeting at Texas State University. This year’s Regents’ Award winners are:

Regents Professor Award (honoring professors with exemplary records of research, teaching, and service)

  • Jason Kwak, Ph.D. – Professor of Music, Texas State University
  • Jon Lasser, Ph.D. – Professor of School Psychology, Texas State University
  • William Lutterschmidt, Ph.D. – Professor of Biological Sciences, Sam Houston State University

Regents’ Student Scholar Award (honoring students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership ability, and contributions to the institution and community)

  • Mateo Seghezzo Alvarez – Music Performance Major, Sam Houston State University
  • Precious Orusa – Nursing Major, Texas State University

Regents’ Staff Excellence Award (honoring staff who demonstrate exceptional commitment to the university, job competency, collegiality, and community involvement)

  • Becky McAnelley – Assistant Dean of Students/Registrar, Lamar State College Orange

Regents’ Teacher Award winners for 2022 will be recognized at the board’s February 2023 meeting in Austin.
