The Texas State University System Foundation supports two scholarship programs to provide financial support to TSUS students and employees:
The Alan Dreeben-Grow Your Own Scholarship Program was created to increase faculty and staff diversity and provide mentoring models for students at the Texas State University System's seven member institutions. Through this program, faculty and staff members from underrepresented groups receive financial assistance to complete their doctoral degrees. While completing the doctorate, the recipient may be given an opportunity to work or teach at the sponsoring TSUS institution. Once the recipient completes his/her doctoral degree, he/she is given priority for employment in a teaching of staff position at the sponsoring institution.
The Edmund P. Kuempel Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to worthy and deserving students, encourages academic excellence, and recognizes student leadership and achievements. Through this program, students in any associate or baccalaureate degree program at any TSUS institution can apply to receive financial assistance. The Edmund P. Kuempel Scholarship Program provides a one-time, $5,000 grant to students to pay for tuition, required fees, living expenses and educational materials. The number of scholarships is determined annually by the TSUS Foundation Board of Directors.
