Board of Regents Chair Appoints Advisory Committee for LSCPA Presidential Search (4/13/26)

(AUSTIN) – Texas State University System Board of Regents Chairman Stephen Lee has appointed an Advisory Search Committee to begin the search for the next president of Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA). Committee members, representing a cross-section of the Southeast Texas region and LSCPA campus community, are:

•    Bill Scott – TSUS Regent (Committee Chair)
•    Sheila Faske – TSUS Regent
•    Percy Jordan – Faculty Council President
•    Heather Breaux – Chair, Allied Health Department
•    Melissa Armentor – Dean of Educational Programs
•    Petra Uzoruo – Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness
•    Prince Ajao – President, LSCPA Student Government Association
•    Payton Keith – LSCPA Foundation Chair; Director, Harris, Deville & Associates
•    Mark Porterie – Superintendent, Port Arthur ISD

The advisory committee will work with Academic Search, an executive search firm, to conduct a national search with the goal of identifying a small number of highly qualified candidates. Finalists will be invited to interview with Chancellor Brian McCall, and the sole finalist will be named by the chancellor and recommended for confirmation by the TSUS Board of Regents as early as July 2026.

The new president will succeed Dr. John Hayek, TSUS Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, who has served as interim president of LSCPA since January 2026.
