(AUSTIN) -- Texas State University System Chancellor Brian McCall today released the following statement regarding the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's vote to approve a proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine at Sam Houston State University.
"Congratulations to Sam Houston State University President Dana Hoyt and her team for securing the Coordinating Board's support for the university's proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine. This is an important milestone in the history of SHSU, and a significant step forward in addressing the shortage of primary care physicians in Texas."
