(HUNTSVILLE) - The Board of Regents of the Texas State University System today presented the Regents' Professor and Regents' Scholar awards to three faculty members and one student from system's member institutions.
James Bexley, Ph.D., is a Distinguished Professor of Finance at Sam Houston State University. He is an award-winning author of more than 100 publications on banking and finance, has served for nearly two decades as the Smith-Hutson Endowed Chair of Banking, and pioneered the curriculum for the university's Bachelor of Business Administration Executive-In-Residence program.
Dennis J. Dunn, Ph.D., is a Distinguished Professor of History at Texas State University, is an internationally-recognized historian and preeminent authority on the Catholic Church in Russia. He is the founder and director of the Center for International Studies at Texas State. One of his hundreds of publications was nominated for the prestigious Dillon Award for best book on American diplomacy.
Dittmar Hahn, Ph.D., is a professor and chair of the Department of Biology at Texas State University. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, served on the editorial boards of three major international journals in microbial ecology and environmental microbiology, and garnered 33 research grants totaling more than $5.7 million.
Bethany Bradshaw is a junior majoring in Family and Child Development at Texas State University. She has earned a cumulative grade point average of 4.0, been placed on the Dean's List every semester, and received several prestigious awards and scholarships, including the Terry Foundation Scholarship. In addition to her academic pursuits, Ms. Bradshaw has volunteered her time with a number of campus and community groups.
The Regents' Professor and Regents' Scholar awards are supported by the Texas State University System Foundation, a public, nonprofit corporation that provides private financial support to TSUS and its member institutions.
