Tom Long of Dallas, Texas, was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott in February 2023 to a six-year term on the Texas State University System Board of Regents. A graduate of Lamar University, Regent Long was appointed co-chief executive officer of Energy Transfer in January 2021, after serving as the company's chief financial officer from 2016 through 2020. He also serves on the board of directors of Energy Transfer LP. In addition, Regent Long is chairman of the board of USA Compression Partners, LP, and serves on the board of directors of Texas Capital Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: TCBI), the parent company of Texas Capital Bank, the Texas Stock Exchange and the Permian Strategic Partnership.
Prior to joining Energy Transfer, Regent Long served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Regency GP LLC from November 2010 to April 2015. From May 2008 to November 2010, he was vice president and chief financial officer of Matrix Service Company. He also served as vice president and chief financial officer of DCP Midstream Partners, LP from its formation in December 2005 through 2008. From 1998 to 2005, Regent Long served in several executive positions with subsidiaries of Duke Energy Corp., one of the nation’s largest electric power companies.

Regent Long’s term on the Board of Regents expires in 2029.
