About

In 2008, TSUS codified its commitment to public art by allocating one percent of construction costs of each major building project with a total project cost of $1 million or greater to the acquisition of public art.

Since 2022, a director of public art has administered the collection for the Texas State University System. The director convenes a Committee on Public Art, composed of subject matter experts including staff, faculty, students, and community members. The Committee evaluates artists for public art projects and endorses public art proposals for all TSUS institutions. The program aims to build upon its rich history to expand the public art collection with significant examples of 20th and 21st century art.

Please contact Nisa Barger, Director of Public Art, for all public art program inquiries.
